Bike track from Hotel Franz through the Preval Valley
Friuli Venezia Giulia by bike
The Preval Valley is 5 km long and 2 km wide, and is surrounded by hills. It hosts very few buildings, one of which is the small sixteenth-century church dedicated to Santa Maria Regina dei popoli (Saint Mary, Queen of People). The soil is moist and the land is covered with cereals fields, vines and woods.
Low-traffic roads and various cycle and pedestrian tracks make hikers and bikers enjoy a peaceful environment.
The steepest part of the track winds in the Slovene area along the Brda hills. The small Gredič castle, which belongs to the Counts Codelli di Mossa, is the symbol of Ceglo village. From Vila Vipolže, a sixteenth-century Venetian villa, you can enjoy stunning views of the green hills of the Brda area.
Vines and wine cellars will surround you and you will have the chance to taste the extraordinary wines of the Collio region.
